CONNIE KOLISNYK, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Connie recently made the switch from the banking industry to the not-for-profit world. After graduating with a B.A. in Communication from Flagler College in St. Augustine, she got her first taste of community service while serving a year with the Americorps *VISTA program, helping college teams develop programs in low-income areas. Although this is her first experience with the Boys & Girls Clubs, she really enjoys meeting the kids and working on a variety of projects that support the Clubs. |

JOYCE BROWN, BOOKKEEPER
Joyce Brown, our Club Bookkeeper, retired and quickly became
tired of retirement. she sought a part-time position and
started with the Boys & Girls Club in February of 2001.
Joyce enjoys almost anything outdoors – camping, fishing,
boating, golfing, horseback riding and working in her yard.
She has two sons with beautiful wives, seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Joyce feels she is truly blessed! |

ALICIA BRINSON, UNIT DIRECTOR
Alicia coordinates programs for the kids and supports staff in implementing the programs. “My goal in life is to reach every person I can through the service I give. I like working at the Club because I get a chance to reach kids from every walk of life.” In her “spare time”, Alicia is a Youth Coordinator at her church. |

PRICILLA POUNDS, TEEN OUTREACH COORDINATOR
Ms. P started at the Club working with the 9-12 year olds, and now works with the teens and serves as advisor for the Keystone Club. She tries to develop programs that will help show the teens that they can achieve almost anything with hard work and commitment. Her programs will help teens learn to work as a team toward improving themselves and the community they live in. |

ROBERT SPENCER, MAINTENANCE/PROGRAM
STAFF
Robert (also known as Peewee) has been employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs for over 11 years. He started part-time doing outside maintenance and is now working full time in the game room and doing facility maintenance. “I really enjoy working with the kids and have enjoyed watching them grow into the people that they have become. I love interacting with the kids so that they can have fun and really enjoy being kids.” |

GERARD BRINSON, PROGRAM
STAFF
Gerard is a Leesburg High School and Lake Technical Center graduate who wants to have a positive influence on the members. “They’re always watching you,” he says, “so they will get that positive to help their negatives.” Gerard can be found teaching the Club Tech program in the Computer Lab at the Club, as well as Music Tech (a digital music producing program) which allow him to share his love with others through his experience as a musician. On his off hours he also has his own appliance and computer repair business. Gerard’s goal in life is to help his community grow in unity and become a better place for everyone living here. |

ROBIN CARUTHERS, PROGRAM
STAFF
Robin supervises members and helps provide a safe place for the kids after school. He likes working at the Club because it gives him a chance to walk with other people and spread a whole lot of laughter. “My goal in life is to be a very positive role model in my community,” he says. When he’s not at the Club, Robin also works with the youth at his church and in the community. |

VIVIAN SPENCER, PROGRAM STAFF
Ms. Vivian is a familiar face around the Club as she has volunteered and worked as summer staff, and now joins the Teeter Unit as a Program Staff member. She can usually be found helping out with programming, keeping her area clean, and assisting kids in every manner. “I love working with kids and people,” she says. |

TONYA PORTER, PROJECT LEARN COORDINATOR
Tonya can usually be found in the Learning Center (also known as the Homework Room) where she provides learning materials and activities for children to excel in areas, especially where they need a little extra help. “It gives me an opportunity to make a positive impact on the Club members,” she says, “and hopefully my co-workers as well.” Her goal is to live the type of life that encourages others to love and forgive and to be all that we were created to be. Tonya also works with the youth and women’s ministry at her church. “I enjoy making a difference in people’s lives.” |

QUENTIN "COACH Q" PEEPLES, BUS DRIVER
Most afternoons, you’ll find Coach Q on the bus transporting kids from school to the Club, but he also assists with the teen program and runs the Passport to Manhood program. This Wildwood High School graduate enjoys working with the kids, and says that his goal in life is “to be successful and enjoy life to the fullest.” |

Danny not only drives the bus, but also helps around the Club with landscaping and maintenance projects – and always with a smile. He also runs Danny’s Auto Detailing when he’s not working at the Club. |

ROBB ELMATTI, UNIT DIRECTOR
Robb Elmatti is the Unit Director of the NE Lake
Unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties.
Robb sees the importance of investing in area young people
as his roots are in the area. Robb graduated from Lake-Sumter Community College and has a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Robb has a diverse background in
working with youth. He spent three years in New Zealand
as a part of Youth With A Mission serving as Outdoor Coordinator
for a missions training school. He, also, has served as
a Program Director for the Pilgrim’s Survival Journey,
an outdoor challenge and personal development program. Robb’s
vision is to see young people develop to their full potential.

ROBERT WILLIAMS, BUS DRIVER
Robert Williams has been married to his wife Brenda
for over 25 years. He serves as Pastor of Administration and
Ministries at Gospel Tabernacle in Umatilla. He is also
a bus driver for Lake County Schools Transportation. Robert
is coordinating field trips and driving the bus for BGC
during the Summer Program. He will also be leading programs
to encourage music and reading in the members' lives. |

HOLLY TAYLOR, EDUCATION COORDINATOR
In the Homework Room, Holly can usually be found helping members with their homework, tutoring those who might be struggling in a particular area, and working with members to enhance their academic skills overall. She also works with the Scrapbooking Club to document NE Lake Unit activities. Currently a student at Lake-Sumter Community College, Holly’s goal is to become a high school math teacher and help children as much as she can. “I like working at the Club because it gives me experience for teaching and for becoming a future parent.”. |

MARY OMERZU, EDUCATION ASSISTANT
As the education assistant, Mary primarily helps members with their homework, but she also serves as advisor for the Torch Club and works with the Kiddy Camp program during the summer. “I love to see the kids learn,” she says. “It’s fun to see their faces when the light bulb goes on and they understand a new concept.” Mary also has fun playing games with the kids, and just spending time getting to know them. |

BRENDA WILLIAMS, STAFF (CHECK IN/OUT DESK and ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES)
Brenda works at the Check In desk, so she’s usually the first person kids see when they arrive. She enjoys interacting with the children and their parents, but she also handles phone calls, processes membership applications, and handles financial transactions for the NE Lake Unit. “My goal in life is to live a quiet and peaceful life and to encourage others along the way.” |

IVAN GONZALEZ, PROGRAM STAFF
Ivan is a multi-talented graduate of Umatilla High School, currently attending Lake-Sumter Community College. He can be found greeting the kids as they get off the bus, or on the sports field playing a variety of sports with the kids, from basketball to kickball. “I like working at the Club because I have a chance to make an impact in all of the kids’ lives,” he says. “And as much as I make them laugh and forget about the problems they may be facing, they make me laugh also.” |

KELSEY JIMENEZ, PROGRAM STAFF
Kelsey is a graduate of Umatilla High School and is currently attending Lake-Sumter Community College with plans to continue to the University of Central Florida. Her goal in life is to be a helpful person and strive for success. At the Club, Kelsey can usually be found either in the Creative Center, or in the homework room. “I love making a positive impact in the members lives, “ this future elementary school teacher says. “Helping children to have fun and teaching them is my passion.” |

MARTY STANLEY, PROGRAM STAFF
Marty works in the Technology Center helping our members become familiar with computers and digital technologies. A former Manager of Hardware and Software Development at Siemens Corporation, he brings a lot of real world high-tech experience with him and enjoys encouraging our youngsters all about this constantly changing world. Marty has joined our staff to have an opportunity to enhance the learning environment here at the NE Lake Unit. |

CHARLENE HESTER, PROGRAM STAFF
Charlene is a graduate of Umatilla High and Lake-Sumter Community College, and is currently attending Nova University. She can usually be found at Check In/Out, but also lends a hand with homework and anywhere else she is needed. “My goal in life is making everyone reach their full potential in life, making sure children enjoy their life,” she says. |

JUSTIN DILLARD, PROGRAM STAFF
Justin is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, and can usually be found on the sports fields as a sports counselor at the Club. “I enjoy being able to help youth solve problems or situations in a positive way,” he says. “My goal in life is to become the person that I dreamed I would be when I got older.” When he’s not at the Club, Justin also works at Tavares Middle School. |

KYLE STILLS, PROGRAM STAFF
A Eustis High School graduate currently attending Lake-Sumter Community College, Kyle is also serving our country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. At the Club, he can be found greeting kids with a smile, and helping out with sports and clean up. “I love being outside,” he says. Kyle’s two goals in life are to become an officer in the Marines, and also to become a youth pastor. |

MARVIN MONROE, PROGRAM STAFF
Marvin is a graduate of Eustis High School, and will be attending Lake Tech in January 2010. At the Club, he can usually be found in the Gamesroom or serving snack. “I like working at the Club because it gives me a chance to be around kids and I love working with kids. I wouldn’t ask for a better job!” Marvin’s goal in life is to be a paramedic, and to one day safe the life of someone or change someone’s life for the better. |
